Prudent and Responsible Texas Bank and Trust
June 24, 2012
Eric Draper, former chief photographer and special assistant to President George W. Bush, will bring his “Front Row Seat to History” photo documentary to Tyler Friday.
Hosted by Texas Bank and Trust as part of its 30th anniversary photography contest celebration, Draper will give a presentation about his visual perspective of the Bush presidency at 11:30 a.m. Friday, at Hollytree Country Club in Tyler, and at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, at Pinecrest Country Club in Longview.
Draper will showcase recognizable images of Bush during his presidency, as well as rare-never-before-seen personal photos of the man and leader, according to a prepared statement from Texas Bank and Trust. From inauguration to the final flight home to Texas, Draper captured more than a million images of Bush during his eight years in office.
In an hour-long photo pictorial and discussion, Draper will showcase his images behind the most historic moments of the Bush White House, including Sept. 11, 2001, the Iraq war and world politics.
Draper also will serve as the principal juror of the Texas Bank and Trust 30th annual Photography Contest and Exhibition. The contest, open to amateur and professional photographers, showcases the people and places of East Texas.
Winning photographs will be included in the bank’s 2013 Collector’s Calendar and the award reception will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the main bank lobby in downtown Longview.
Seating is limited. Get tickets for Draper’s presentation luncheon or dinner at www.texasbankandtrust.com.
