Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-sixth anniversary of Student Board of Directors, recognizing outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following members of the 2013-2014 Student Board.
Monica Lim is a senior at Grace Community School where she is a member of both the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society, and she serves as vice president of community services for student government. As a gifted musician, Monica performs with the Grace Philharmonic Orchestra and the Tyler Youth Orchestra and has advanced to all-region orchestra. She is also active in the school sports program as member of the swim team and participates in both track and cross-country. Monica plans to major in biomedical engineering at Rice University and her future career goal is to solve medical issues through engineering and serve as an oncologist. She was elected to serve as secretary for the Student Board of Directors this school year. Monica is the daughter of Dr. Paul and Joanne Lim.
Chandler Alt, son of Dawn Pierce and William Alt, is a senior at Bishop Thomas K. Gorman Regional Catholic School. He is a member of the National Honor Society and serves as the business club vice president. Chandler is involved throughout the community as a Gorman Ambassador, representing the school in various service, public relations, and networking activities. He is active in the Crusader sports program where he plays on both the lacrosse team and the football team, and he is also a member the Tyler Soccer Referee’s Association. Chandler plans to attend The University of Texas at Austin and major in either business or petroleum engineering. He hopes to someday own his own company, have a family, and be successful.
Siqi (Sophie) Wu is a senior at The Brook Hill School and is the daughter of Lidong Liang and Songfeng Wu of Beijing, China. Sophie is a member of both the National Honor Society and the National Society of High School Scholars and listed on the Headmaster’s Honor Guard roll for academic excellence. She is a member of the recently formed Brook Hill Corps drum line and also sings with the upper school choir, which has consistently earned superior ratings at both district and state Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools vocal contests. Sophie is an active volunteer both here in the local community and also in Beijing when she return home during school breaks. She plans to attend Cornell University and study human resources. Sophie’s long-term career goals include working for an international company while pursuing her PhD.
