Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-fifth anniversary of Student Board of Directors, recognizing outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following members of the 2012-2013 Student Board.
Emma Brookshire, daughter of Michelle and Tim Brookshire, is a senior at Grace Community High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society and on the A Honor Roll. Emma is involved in drill team, cross-country, and the school yearbook. She plays the violin with the school orchestra and has received numerous awards. Emma has also been selected to perform with the All Region Orchestra. During her sophomore year she studied speech and debate at Oxford College in Oxford, England. Emma volunteers for her community at local nursing homes, helps serve in the Soup Kitchen, and rings the bell during the Christmas holiday for the Salvation Army. She plans to major in journalism at the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia, with a future goal of becoming an editor or writer for a magazine.
Wesley B. DeArmond is a senior at Bishop Thomas K. Gorman Regional Catholic High School where he is a member of the National Honor Society. He is involved in the Ambassadors Program, the pre-med club, and plays tennis, baseball, and football for the school. Wesley is a member of the Mighty Crusaders Band and is also involved in music ministry. He is active in his community and volunteers with the East Texas Food Bank, the American Red Cross, and Hospice of East Texas. Wesley plans to attend Tyler Junior College (TJC), with a future goal to complete the TJC Fire Academy Program and become a certified firefighter. His interests and hobbies include playing the trombone, gaming, weight lifting, and baseball. Wesley is the son of Michelle Gilbert and Charles DeArmond.
Harrison Pollard, son of Tina and Robert Pollard, is a senior at All Saints Episcopal School where he serves as president of the student body. Harrison has been involved in the athletic program at All Saints throughout high school and is currently serving as the varsity soccer captain. He is a member of the French club, history club, and art club. During his junior year, Harrison attended the Texas A&M University Leadership Conference at College Station. He is actively involved in mission projects and giving back to his community and volunteers at the local food bank. Harrison is also a member of the Tyler Junior Symphony League. He plans to major in medicine with a long-term career goal of attending a top medical school and becoming a surgeon. Harrison’s hobbies include swimming and weight lifting.
