Mike Craig serves as president of the Tyler Oilmen’s Benefit Association, Inc., which raises funds through community events to benefit local children’s charities. The association organizes events such as their Sporting Clays Shoot to be held on Sunday, April 14, at Prairie Creek Ranch in Gladewater, Texas. They also hold an annual golf tournament and bass fishing tournament. Together, these events raise more than $100,000 annually.
Outside of his service to the Tyler Oilmen’s Benefit Association, Mr. Craig is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers where he has served as the golf tournament chairman and was on the board of directors. He has been a member of the American Petroleum Institute, the International Association of Drilling Contractors, and the Tyler Ducks Unlimited Chapter where he served as the area chairman. Mr. Craig has also served as an adult leader for the Boy Scouts of America.
“I have been blessed in life, and I feel it is my duty and privilege to give back in the best way that I can,” Mr. Craig said. “Because of this, I believe in doing unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
Born in Marshall, Texas, Mr. Craig has resided in the Tyler area for 13 years. He and his wife, Lisa, have been married for 32 years and are the parents of three adult children, Travis, Mason, and Lesley. Mr. Craig is a graduate of Marshall High School and earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He is employed as the sales manager for Cudd Energy Services. The Craigs are members of First Baptist Church Whitehouse.
“I love the beauty of the East Texas area and the beauty of its people. I have made some of my best friends here, and I find that the community is very willing to give of their time, money, and resources to benefit those that are less fortunate,” Mr. Craig said.
