Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-fifth anniversary of Student Board of Directors, recognizing outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following members of the 2012-2013 Student Board.
Austin Wilson, grandson of Jean and Blake Wilson, is a senior at Robert E. Lee High School. He serves as secretary of the National Honor Society and is vice president of both the drama and French clubs. Austin is active in the fine arts programs where he serves as president for the REL orchestra and is a member of Alpha Chi, a singing group at Green Acres Baptist Church. Austin is a transfer student from Wichita Falls, Texas, where he served as chairman of the stage crew committee for the Wichita Falls Chamber Orchestra and was a member of the Wichita Falls Youth Symphony. He is a member of the International Thespian Society and is a Texas Music Scholar. Austin is a People to People Student Ambassador having studied in six European countries. He plans to major in romantic languages and literature at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, with a future goal of working abroad in international diplomacy or development.
Edgar Marquez is a bilingual student at John Tyler High School. He is a member of the National Honor Society, is listed on the AB honor roll, and has taken all advanced placement classes during his senior year. Edgar participates in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) math competition in the number sense category and is a member of the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) club. He is a community volunteer at the city recycling center and for the Susan G. Komen Foundation’s Race for the Cure. Edgar has developed his passionate artistic talent through use of the Adobe CS5 software. He plans to pursue this creative talent upon graduation and major in video game design at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. This university has built a reputation as one of the premier art, music, and film schools in the world. Edgar’s hobbies and interests include medical and computer design, playing soccer, and video games. He is the son of Leticia and J. Cruz Marquez.
Anna Davidson, daughter of Dr. Barbara Sigal and Thad Davidson, is a senior at Bishop Thomas K. Gorman High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society, editor of the school yearbook, and active in the photography club. Anna is involved with the ambassador program, serves as assistant blood drive coordinator, and is a peer ministry team member. Anna sings with the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) choir and is a member of the Junior Symphony League. She is also involved in the school sports program where she plays volleyball and runs track. Anna is a member at First Baptist Church and sings with the student choir. She enjoys volunteering for Kids Praise Days and Vacation Bible School, and is also a volunteer at the Salvation Army. Anna plans to attend Texas A&M University or The University of Texas at Austin. Her interests include spending time with her friends and pinterest projects.
