Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-fifth anniversary of Student Board of Directors, recognizing outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following members of the 2012-2013 Student Board.
John David Cobb, son of Jill and David Cobb, is a senior at Robert E. Lee High School. He is a member of the Spanish Club and Young Republicans. John David is active in the sports program and plays for the REL baseball team. His community volunteer service includes Challenger Baseball, where special needs children have the opportunity to play baseball together as a team, and helping at the East Texas Food Bank. John David is also involved in Young Life and is active in the youth group at Marvin United Methodist Church. He plans to attend either the University of Oklahoma or Texas Tech University. John David’s future career goals include medical sales or physical therapy. His interests and employment include baseball, mowing lawns, and working at Racquet and Jog.
Geoffrey Taylor is a senior at Grace Community School where he is a member of the National Honor Society. He is captain on the varsity soccer team and is also a member of the varsity swim team. Geoffrey has served as the football team manager for the past two years. He is a member of the school choir and has received special recognition both in choir and swimming. Geoffrey has also attended TAPPS academic regional meet for Spanish. He serves on the church worship tech team and is also involved in helping mentally disabled high school students learn about acting and performing. Geoffrey plans to attend Baylor University and major in Integrated Circuit Design, Networking, and Communications Management. His interests include electronic design, travel, and foreign culture. Geoffrey is the son of Betty and Thomas Taylor.
Hanna Clarke is the daughter of Resa and Brian Clarke and is a senior at Robert E. Lee High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society, serves as Student Senate Treasurer, and represents REL on the Student Health Advisory Committee. Hanna has served on and overseen the Teacher Appreciation Committee and also assisted in the bi-annual blood drive for Carter Blood Care and the annual Pantry Raid for the East Texas Food Bank. She is a varsity cheerleader, an Upwards Cheer coach, and is also involved in All-Star competitive cheerleading. Hanna is very active in Young Life and is a member of the Junior Symphony League. She hopes to attend either The University of Texas at Austin or Southern Methodist University. Hanna’s career goals include graduating from college and possibly attending law school.
