This academic year, Texas Bank and Trust celebrates its third anniversary of the Student Board of Directors. This group of outstanding high school seniors has demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following 2011-2012 Student Board members:
MAKAYLA WATKINS is a senior at Grace Community School where she is a member of the drum line. Makayla has also participated in basketball, drama productions, school auctions, fall festivals, mission trips, Bible study, and other community service projects. She plans to attend Tyler Junior College and then transfer to Stephen F. Austin State University to earn her degree in elementary education. Her future goals include teaching fourth grade. Makayla enjoys dancing, listening to music, and spending time with friends. She is the daughter of Kimberly and Walter Watkins.
ALDEN WARR, son of Sabrina and Jeff Warr, will graduate from Grace Community School. He is a member of the academic team and won district as a member of the mock trial team. Alden serves as chaplain for the National Honor Society and serves as vice president for varsity choir. Alden has also participated in all-region and all-area choir. He plans to study accounting at Texas A&M University and eventually obtain his master’s degree in business/accounting. Alden’s interests include hunting, fishing, teaching Sunday school, and reading. He was elected to serve as chairman for the 2011-2012 TB&T Student Board of Directors.
ANDREW LATTA is a senior at All Saints Episcopal School and active in the sports program where he is a member of the football, soccer, and tennis teams. Andrew plays the trumpet in the upper school band and is a docent for new student prospects. During the summer months he participates in school mission trips and last summer was selected to attend the Christian Leadership Institute at Baylor University. Andrew will major in business but is undecided on his college choice at this time. He attends Calvary Baptist Church and is the son of Kay and Paul Latta.
CAROLINE BROOKSHIRE, daughter of Sunni and Britt Brookshire, will graduate from Robert E. Lee High School. Caroline serves as a senator for student council and as a director of the National Honor Society. She is also a member of the Young Republicans Club. Caroline plans to attend The University of Texas at Austin to pursue a degree in journalism. Her future goals include a journalism career with a magazine publication or possibly as a television sports correspondent. Caroline enjoys water skiing and snow skiing, dance and exercise, and hunting and fishing.
