For the twenty-sixth year, Hollytree Country Club will be host to the Tyler Junior College (TJC) Collegiate Benefit Tennis Tournament & Pro-Am. Sarah Hembree Hill, D.C., is serving as the tennis committee chair with the board of governors at Hollytree for this year’s benefit tournament. As a past Tennis All-American National Champion, Dr. Hill is well qualified for the position! The benefit tournament will be held September 9-11, with all proceeds donated to the TJC scholarship foundation.
“The tournament is open to the public and offers doubles and mixed doubles for players of all levels,” Dr. Hill said. “We anticipate about 200 players to compete and to attend the Friday night pre-tournament dinner party. The tournament also offers pro-am divisions for players of all levels, giving them a chance to be matched with a current or former TJC player.”
An active volunteer in the community, Dr. Hill is a member of the Junior League of Tyler, Inc. and has served on the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure committee and the Cattle Barons’ committee. Her profession as a chiropractor provides Dr. Hill the opportunity to volunteer her skills and services to patients at Bethesda Health Clinic.
“To be a volunteer is a blessing and joy because giving back to the less fortunate is a two-way path to fulfillment and happiness for the volunteer and the recipient,” Dr. Hill said.
Born in Houston, Texas, Dr. Hill has lived in Tyler for 23 years. She and her husband, Joshua, have been married for three years. Dr. Hill is a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and earned her bachelor of arts degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. She received both her bachelor of science degree in health and wellness and her doctor of chiropractic degree from Parker Chiropractic College in Dallas, Texas. The Hills are members of Green Acres Baptist Church.“It is an amazing feeling to come back to your hometown and know that what you give to the local community is a true blessing to others and is truly needed,” Dr. Hill said. “I am blessed to have been raised in a family that truly believes in the concept of giving to others, and I look forward to passing this belief and way of life onto our family one day.”
