When asked about her volunteer philosophy, Linda Rowe says, “Volunteering simply comes from my heart. It’s the right thing to do. When you are able to help someone less fortunate or less healthy than yourself, it’s your duty to do all you can. And, everyone benefits!”
In putting her words to work, Mrs. Rowe is serving as chair for the Sixth Annual Pearls & Promises Gala, to be held on Friday, April 8, at Villa di’ Felicita in Tyler. The Gala promises an evening of fine dining and dancing to the sounds of a live band, and both a silent and live auction offering exciting and unique items. This annual fundraiser will benefit women and children’s health services and healthcare programs for underserved women provided by Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics.
“Sister Honesta, one of the nuns associated with Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics, once said, ‘If you take care of women and children, you have influenced an entire generation,’ ” Mrs. Rowe said. “It’s my hope that healthy women and children are the positive outcome that we are building for the future.”
Mrs. Rowe serves on the Trinity Mother Frances Women’s Board, the All Saints Episcopal School Board, and the Texas Rose Festival Board. She is also a member of the Women’s Symphony League, the Junior League of Tyler, Inc., and Women of Vision.
Born in Beaumont, Texas, Mrs. Rowe has resided in Tyler for 19 years. She and her husband, George, have been married 16 years and are the parents of Trey Rowe, Katherine Rowe, Ashley Randall, and Melissa Bennet. Mrs. Rowe is a graduate of Monsignor Kelly High School in Beaumont and earned her undergraduate degree from Lamar University in Beaumont. The Rowes are members of Marvin United Methodist Church.
“Being able to raise our family in such a faith-based and generous community is wonderful. Through my volunteer work, I have made lifelong friends, learned new skills, and had a lot of great fun,” Mrs. Rowe said.
