The mission of the United States Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots campaign is to collect new, unwrapped toys during the months of October, November, and December, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts along with a message of hope to less fortunate children in our community. By uniting all members of our community in a common cause for these three months each year, Toys for Tots strives to help every child experience the joys of Christmas and to contribute to the betterment of our community.
Fran Powell Rodebaugh is serving as the 2013 volunteer coordinator for the Rose City Detachment of the Marine Corps League.
“Registration for children to receive Christmas toys begins in October, and we will be busy making sure each of these children has Christmas,” Mrs. Rodebaugh said. “My hope is for the community to give generously at the Toys for Tots collection sites located at many local businesses, and help us make their Christmas wishes come true. We have over 100 volunteers working to make this happen, and with your continued support, we can help even more children.”
Outside of her service to the Marine Corps League, Mrs. Rodebaugh is also an active member of the Rotary Club of Tyler, where she serves as service chair on the board of directors and was recently recognized as the 2013 Rotarian of the Year. She is a member of the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce, the Better Business Bureau Ambassadors, and TNT: The Networking Team, a professional business woman’s networking group. Mrs. Rodebaugh also holds membership with International Franchise Association and Building Service Contractors Association International.
