Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-sixth anniversary of Student Board of Directors, recognizing outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following members of the 2013-2014 Student Board.
Emma Yeatts is a senior at Grace Community School where she serves as a community service representative for student government. She is active in the sports program at Grace as a member of the All-District, All-East Texas volleyball team and is a state qualifier in two events for track and field. Emma also sings with the school choir. She is involved with student ministry leadership and serves is a member of the youth group Special Ops Team. Emma is an active community volunteer for the East Texas Food Bank, Special Olympics, and People Attempting to Help (PATH). She is unsure of her college choice at this time but hopes to one day serve as a registered nurse overseas and share God’s love while helping to heal those in need. Emma is the daughter of Shana and Clint Yeatts.
Nickolas (Nick) Mayfield, son of Ms. Shanna Mayfield, is a senior at John Tyler High School. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program. Nick participates in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Academic Meet in prose and poetry. He is an accomplished athlete and a member of the football, track and field, and power-lifting teams at John Tyler. Nick is the recipient of the American Legion School Award Certificate of Americanism. This award is presented to a student that represents outstanding qualities of character, courage, honor, leadership, and patriotism. Nick plans to major in marketing at The University of Texas at Austin and his future career goal includes sports marketing.
Heunice Zatarain, a senior at Robert E. Lee High School, is the daughter of Lucía Ortega and Miguel Zatarain. She is an International Baccalaureate student and a member of the National Honor Society. Heunice is involved in the fine arts program where she serves as librarian for the orchestra, is a member of the fiddle group, and provides technical support for the school theater. She serves as the Revelation Student Ministry vice president and is also active in the REL Bible club. Heunice gives back to the community by teaching classes at Birdwell Elementary School to adults that have not had the opportunity of an education in their native country. She is the recipient of the American Legion School Award Certificate of Americanism, presented to a student that represents outstanding qualities of character, courage, honor, leadership, and patriotism. Heunice plans to study accounting at The University of Texas at Austin.
