Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-sixth anniversary of Student Board of Directors, recognizing outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following members of the 2013-2014 Student Board.
Tonyae Evans is a senior at John Tyler High School and is the daughter of Samarra Evans and Gerion Johnson. Tonyae is a member of the National Honor Society and active in the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) club. As a gifted musician, she is first chair cello with the school orchestra. Tonyae is also active in the sports program at John Tyler and plays tennis for the varsity team. She is currently ranked number one on both the girls and mixed doubles teams. Tonya is a community volunteer with the Salvation Army, the Boys and Girls Club, and the Spirit of St. Louis Therapeutic Riding Center. She plans to attend Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, to study animal sciences, with hopes of becoming a veterinarian.
Chandler Harrison is a senior at Robert E. Lee High School where he is involved in the Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society, the National Honor Society, and the National Society of High School Scholars. He is a member of the Student Senate, Young Republicans, is senior class president, and was nominated to be a National Young Leaders delegate. Chandler is also on the school varsity soccer team and a member of the Spanish club. He serves on the Junior Symphony League and volunteers in the community for the Bethesda Health Clinic, the Salvation Army, and the East Texas Food Bank. Chandler plans to major in finance at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, and then attend law school. He is the son of Dr. Craig and Catherine Harrison.
Alexis Trimble, daughter of Wendy and Jason Trimble, is a senior at Grace Community School. In addition to her commitment to her academic education, Alexis has excelled in the Cougar sports program as a member of the cross-country, track, and soccer teams. She currently serves as co-captain for both the cross-country and soccer teams. Alexis was the recipient of the Tyler Morning Telegraph Newcomer of the Year All-East Texas as well as First Team All-East Texas, and has earned recognition at district and state level competition. She also helps coach the Little Cougar Dribblers soccer team. Alexis is a member of the school Chapel team and volunteers as a Vacation Bible School teacher at Grace Community Church. She plans to attend Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, with a future career goal of becoming a pediatric nurse.
