Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-sixth anniversary of Student Board of Directors, recognizing outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following members of the 2013-2014 Student Board.
Dhruv Narayanan is a senior at Robert E. Lee High School and president of both the National Honor Society and the Mu Alpha Theta math honors society. Dhruv also takes part in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) math and science team and the UIL literary criticism team. As well as being a member of the chamber orchestra, where he has advanced to both all-region orchestra and area orchestra, Dhruv serves as the webmaster and treasurer for the orchestra. He is the founder and president of the Red Raider Robotics Club, an officer of the Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA), ambassador for Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY), and is a NASA INSPIRE online community member. Dhruv is a third degree, level four black belt as well as a nationally certified instructor of Tae Kwon Do. He plans to attend The University of Texas at Dallas in the fall as part of their honors mechanical engineering program. Dhruv is the son of Lalitha Krishnan and Dr. Narayanan Subramanian.
Abigail Crawford is graduating this spring from Grace Community School where she is a member of the National Honor Society. She is an active member of the choir, show choir, and the musical theater. She is a part of the award-winning, state qualifying Mock Trial Team. In her community, Abigail has served the past three years as a camp counselor during the summer at Royal Family KIDS- a camp that gives foster children a week of memories built around a Christian environment. Abigail is planning to attend Baylor University and would like to study pre-law. Her long-term goal is to become an attorney to represent emotionally and physically abused children. Abigail’s interests and hobbies include musical theatre, reading, cooking, and running. She is the daughter of Leslie and Michael Crawford.
Andre Crawford, son of Consuelo Crawford and Andre Crawford, is a senior at John Tyler High School and a member of the National Honor Society. He is active in the sports program where he plays on the varsity football, baseball, and basketball team, as well as serving as a team captain for both football and baseball. Andre is a member of the band and the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) club. In his community, he volunteers to help feed the homeless and those in need through the Salvation Army. With his church, Andre takes part in a National Convention doing Bible sword drills and received first place for Bible activities at the National Baptist Congress. He plans to major in petroleum engineering at The University of Texas at Austin and would like to become a lead petroleum engineer at a major company in the future. Andre’s interest and hobbies include football, baseball, and reading.
