When asked about her volunteer philosophy, Jion Dietz said, “I believe anyone can be kind. Kindness can be expressed in many forms and volunteerism is one of them. Helping others in need, whether it is with one’s time or resources, will make a difference.”
Putting her philosophy to good work, Mrs. Dietz is serving on the planning committee for the Ninth Annual Pearls & Promises Gala benefitting programs for women provided by Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics. This year’s event will take place on Friday, April 11, at Willow Brook Country Club in Tyler. The Gala promises an evening of exciting silent and live auctions, a delicious dinner, and dancing to the sounds of the Downtown Fever band.
“Tyler is a city with many strengths so it’s sometimes hard to imagine that there are many East Texans in need of help,” said Mrs. Dietz. “I’m thankful to serve on not-for-profit committees that reach out to meet the needs of local women and children. Through the generosity and kindness of our community, we are able to provide them the educational and healthcare opportunities they deserve.”
Mrs. Dietz also serves on the Trinity Mother Frances Women’s Board and is a member of The Women’s Fund. She is a past member of The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler’s Women’s Connection and the Tyler Area Builders Association Board of Directors.
Born in Irving, Texas, Mrs. Dietz has resided in Tyler for 27 years. She and her husband, Ken, have been married for eight years and are the parents of Tucker, 6, Bryce, 4, and Zoe, 3. Mrs. Dietz is a graduate of Bullard High School and attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas. She is the owner of Fixture This, Inc., a business offering residential and commercial lighting and hardware. The Dietzs are members of Lanes Chapel United Methodist Church.
“I enjoy living in Tyler, a community large and diverse, yet small enough you know your neighbor. It is a wonderful city to raise a family and be a local business owner. We are growing culturally and economically with the support of dedicated citizens,” Mrs. Dietz said.
