Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-sixth anniversary of Student Board of Directors, recognizing outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following members of the 2013-2014 Student Board.
Abigail Halbrook is a senior at Robert E. Lee High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) organization. Abigail is an accomplished, award-winning athlete, and a three-year member of both the girls varsity track and cross-country teams. She has also received district all-academic recognition as a student athlete. Abigail is an active member of Green Acres Baptist Church, volunteering for Vacation Bible School and traveling on mission trips to Kansas, Colorado, and Costa Rica. She has received an appointment to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, and plans to major in biology with a career goal of becoming a physician or physical therapist. Abigail is the daughter of Marti and Bobby Halbrook.
Jack Oliver, son of Marae and Lawrence Oliver, is a senior at Robert E. Lee High School. He serves as secretary for the National Honor Society and is treasurer of the high school mathematics honor society, Mu Alpha Theta. Jack also participates on the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Literary Criticism team and advanced to all-region for team spelling. He is captain of the varsity swim team and earned honorable mention at the Texas all-state swim meet. Jack is an accomplished violinist and advanced to all-region as a member of the varsity orchestra. He also plays the violin with his church choir at St. Vincent De Paul. Jack plans to major in economics at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. He hopes to earn a master’s degree and become an investment banker.
Tong (Hannah) Sha is a senior at The Brook Hill School and a member of the National Honor Society, the International Society, and the Global Affairs club. She is an award-winning member of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) math team and serves as an academic prefect in math, chemistry, and physics. Hannah was appointed to the honor guard, a program that recognizes and encourages academic excellence. She is a member of the varsity choir and is also a member of the school drum line. Hannah plans to major in mathematics at Hong Kong University in Pokfulam, Hong Kong, with a future career in either business or finance. She is the daughter of Mrs. Xiaojuan Ma and Mr. Bin Sha. Mrs. Albea serves as Hannah’s guardian while she is attending The Brook Hill School.
