Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-sixth anniversary of Student Board of Directors, recognizing outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following members of the 2013-2014 Student Board.
Abigail Russell is a senior at All Saints Episcopal School where she serves as Student Senate president and National Honor Society vice president. She is an award-winning member of the varsity debate team and is the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) district number-sense champion. Abigail is editor of the All Saints literary magazine and tutors younger students in the school’s writing center. She is a member of the varsity tennis team and is the TAPPS state girls tennis champion. Abigail is actively involved in the educational program, Odyssey of the Mind, where she serves as a coach and judge at the regional level. This program provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Abigail plans to major in engineering. She is the daughter of Dr. Mike and Angie Russell.
Christian Bell will graduate from Robert E. Lee High School in the spring. He is a member of the National Honor Society and the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. Christian participates in Health Occupational Students of America (HOSA), Young Republicans, and the Spanish and Art clubs. He has been involved in the sports program throughout high school, playing on both the football and baseball teams. Christian is a member of the Tyler Junior Symphony League, a member of the youth group and an acolyte at Christ Episcopal Church, and serves with Young Life, a Christian ministry for high school students. He is a volunteer for the Salvation Army and East Texas Medical Center. Christian plans to attend The University of Texas at Austin and major in business, with a future career in healthcare or business. He is the grandson of Henry Bell.
Paige Phillips is the daughter of Carla and Lance Phillips and a senior at Grace Community School. She is a member of the National Honor Society and involved in the fine arts program as a three-year member of the award-winning school choir. Paige also played two years on the Cougar girl’s basketball team. She is a member of the Tyler Junior Symphony League. Paige plans to study nursing at Texas A&M University, with a long-term career goal of becoming a nurse anesthetist. Her interests and hobbies include reading, spending time with family and friends, baking, and crossfit.
