Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-sixth anniversary of Student Board of Directors, recognizing outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following members of the 2013-2014 Student Board.

Yulong He is a senior at The Brook Hill School and is the son of Mrs. Hu and Mr. He of China.  Mr. and Mrs. Travis White and their children serve as Yulong’s host family. As an international boarding student, Yulong has taken the opportunity not only to excel in academic courses, but fully immerse himself in the school’s athletic programs as well. As a member of the swim team, he placed in both the 200-yard free relay and the 200-yard medley relay at the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) North Regional Swim Meet. Yulong also ran track his junior year and is a member of the basketball team. He serves as a math prefect and is a member of the National Honor Society.  Yulong plans to major in economics and would like to have a career in the banking industry.

Sarah Kent, daughter of Anne and Chris Kent, will graduate from Bishop Thomas K. Gorman Regional Catholic School this spring.  She serves as a tutor for the National Honor Society, is student body vice president, and, as a Gorman Ambassador, assists the school and church community in various ways. Sarah is a recipient of the Gorman Christus Award, presented for faith, leadership, and integrity.  As a member of the NASA team, she had the opportunity to travel to Korolev, Russia, to compete in the International Space Olympics.  Sarah is also active in the school sports program as a member of the varsity volleyball and softball teams.  She plans to attend Texas A&M University and major in engineering, with a future career goal of teaching high school chemistry or becoming an engineer.

Hunter Brown attends Bishop Thomas K. Gorman Regional Catholic School where he is a member of both the football and track teams and is the founder and president of the TK Gorman fishing club.  Hunter is vice president of the National Honor Society, participates in the Duke Scholar’s Program, and is on the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) academic team.  He is a member of the NASA High School Aerospace Scholar’s Program and traveled to Korolev, Russia, to compete in the International Space Olympics. Hunter is also an accomplished and award-winning member of the school choir. He is active in the Boy Scouts of America and its honor society, the Order of the Arrow.  Hunter will study biomedical engineering at the Massachesetts Institute of Technology and hopes to someday work for NASA.  He is the son of Sharon and Davis Brown.
