Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-fifth anniversary of Student Board of Directors, recognizing outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following members of the 2012-2013 Student Board.
Jarrod Bridges, son of Teresa and Jerry Bridges, is a senior at Longview High School. He is a member of the National Honor Society and is also involved in the International Baccalaureate program. Jarrod serves as president of Interact, a service club that assists numerous school and community organizations. He is active in the sports program where he plays on the varsity golf team for the LOBOS and is the baseball trainer. Jarrod is involved in the praise band at his church. He plans to attend college at The University of Texas at Austin and major in biology. His long-term career goals include dental school and specialize in orthodontics or oral surgery. Jarrod enjoys football, hunting, and working out.
ShaiRee Peoples is a senior at Longview High School. She is a Globe Scholar, a member of the National Honor Society, and is active in the Anchor club. ShaiRee also plays softball for the Lady Lobos. She is a member of the school orchestra and has performed with the Longview Youth Symphony Orchestra for more than five years. ShaiRee serves as president of Top Teens of America Longview Oil Derrick Chapter and is the recipient of the Delta Sigma Theta Achievement Award. She sings in the youth choir at her church, is part of the Praise Dance Team, and helps in the nursery. ShaiRee plans to major in biochemistry at Baylor University. She is the daughter of Evelyn and Philbert Peoples. ShaiRee was selected to serve as secretary for the Student Board of Directors for this school year.
Evan Estes is a senior at Pine Tree High School and is the son of Judy and Ken Estes. He serves as treasure for the Distributive Education Club of America (DECA) and has received honors and awards at the state level. Evan is also involved with both the student council and the Interact Club. He is an active member of the PTHS varsity sports program in football, tennis, and track. Evan is a member at First Baptist Church and is involved in the mission and service work of World Changers. He plans to attend Texas Tech University, majoring in energy commerce, and hopes to have a career in the oil and gas industry. Evan’s interests and hobbies include guitar, softball, movies, music, and working out.
