Although Cliff Hale is a relatively new member of our community, he has immersed himself in the community as an active volunteer. He currently serves as president of the Daybreak Kiwanis Club and is a member of the board of directors for Junior Achievement of East Texas. Mr. Hale will serve as chairman of the 2014 Longview Chamber of Commerce Outdoor Expo to be held at Maude Cobb Convention and Activity Center this January. He is a graduate of the Leadership Longview Class of 2011 and was recently recognized as an Emerging Leader Award Winner through the Chamber. Mr. Hale also volunteers as a coach for both the Longview Boys Baseball Association and the Longview Soccer Association.
“I believe what makes a good leader all starts with Matthew 20, when Christ said, ‘and whoever wants to be first must be least, just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve,’” Mr. Hale said.
Mr. Hale has been a member of the Longview community for three years. He graduated from Henderson High School in Henderson, Texas, earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi in University, Mississippi, and obtained his master’s degree from Mississippi College in Clinton, Mississippi. Mr. Hale is employed as a senior vice president with Citizens National Bank. He and his wife, Nancy, have been married 13 years and are the parents of four children, Carolyn, 8, Joel 6, Blanton 5, and Elizabeth, 3. The family attends Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
“Being a volunteer in the Longview community provides an opportunity to meet a diverse group of people,” Mr. Hale said. “There are so many great people that are involved in our community with unique and wonderful talents. It is a blessing to be part of such a generous and energetic community.”
