This academic year, Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-fourth anniversary of the Student Board of Directors, a group of outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following 2011-2012 Student Board members:
CALEB JONES, son of Carrie and Wes Jones, is a senior at Spring Hill High School. Caleb serves as class vice president, and as student council treasurer, is student section leader, and is a member of the National Honor Society. He is on the varsity basketball team and both the varsity cross-country and track teams. Caleb plans to major in aerospace engineering at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and upon graduation, “serve his country.” He is active in the Life Teen youth group at Saint Matthew’s Catholic Church and enjoys camping, hunting, basketball, running, and music.
ANGEL REED will graduate from Longview High School in the spring. She serves as president of Z-Club and is a member of the National Honor Society. She is also a member of the LHS Viewettes. While Angel is undecided on her college choice at this time, she does plan to study fashion merchandising and international business. After college, Angel hopes to work in the fashion industry alongside major designers. She is involved in the youth group at Longview Christian Church and her interests include fashion and dance. Angel is the daughter of Tiffany and Mitch Reed.
AMNA TARIQ, daughter of Nassem Tariq and Tariq Bashir, will graduate from Spring Hill High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society and student council. Amna serves as yearbook editor, is a member of the chess club, and plays soccer for the panthers. She plans to major in biochemistry at the University of North Texas and become a pediatrician, specializing with children suffering from mental disorders. Amna attends a mosque and her interests include writing, art, music, photography, sports, and reading.
COLIN ROE is a senior at Pine Tree High School and is the son of Karen and Lance Roe. He serves as Interact treasurer, and as Fellowship of Christian Athletes president, and is captain of the cross-country team. Colin also runs track for PTHS. He is a member of BUCS, Peer Assistance and Leadership Students, and the Lumberjack Club. Colin plans to attend Texas A&M University and major in biology. His future goals include teaching biology and coaching. Colin has been an active participant and leader in student ministry at Mobberly Baptist Church. Colin enjoys all sports, Pez collecting, golfing, and playing the guitar.
