Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-fifth anniversary of Student Board of Directors, recognizing outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following members of the 2012-2013 Student Board.
Colin Jeter, son of Wendy Jeter and Don and Laura Jeter, is a senior at Longview High School. He is a member of the National Honor Society and on the LHS Honor Roll with Distinction. Colin is also a Duke Scholar and is involved in the Interact Club service organization. He plays on the LOBO varsity football team and received honorable mention All-District Tight-End recognition. Colin has also received a first place award for his writing and participation in a Veterans Day essay contest. He is a member at First United Methodist Church where he is active in the youth group and traveled on several mission trips. Colin has also done mission work in Memphis, Tennessee, with the Service Over Self organization. His community volunteer service includes Asbury House, the Hiway 80 Rescue Mission, the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive, Toys for Tots, and Eastman Envirothon®. Colin plans to attend Texas A&M University and major in civil engineering.
Torean Sheppard is a senior at Longview High School where he is a member of the National Honor Society and participates in the International Baccalaureate Program. Torean is also on the LHS Honor Roll with Distinction and serves on Student Council as the class of 2013 vice president. He is a member of the LOBO varsity football team and also involved in the Anchor Club and Theater. Torean received first place in the 2011 Young Orators competition for The Link’s, Inc. and also received the Martin Luther King, Jr. Young Dreamer Award. He is an active member at St. Paul Baptist Church, where he serves as the church youth president, the Sunday church school director, and tutors students in grades 3-6. His community volunteer service includes Coats for Kids, the Haverty’s Angel Tree, and Operation Christmas Child. Torean plans to attend college at Florida Atlantic University, majoring in Health Administration. He is the son of Sarah and James Sheppard.
Christopher Flournoy, son of Karla and Daniel Flournoy, is a senior at Spring Hill High School. He is a member of the National Honor Society and a Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) representative. Christopher serves as both class treasurer and Student Council treasurer. He participates on the University Interscholastic League (UIL) social studies team and was a regional qualifier. Christopher is involved with business management at SHHS and was a member of the Spring Hill State Bank Student Board as a junior. He is also active in the sports program and plays on the Spring Hill Panther’s football team. Christopher received recognition as second team All-District Kicker. He is an active member at Mobberly Baptist Church and involved in youth leadership. Christopher plans to attend Louisiana Tech University and major in business administration. He enjoys hunting, fishing, basketball, football, and spending time with family and friends.
