Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-fifth anniversary of Student Board of Directors, recognizing outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following members of the 2012-2013 Student Board.
Allessia Scribner is a senior at Longview High School where she is a member of the National Honor Society and participates in the International Baccalaureate Program. She serves as the girls LOBO golf team captain and is a member of both the Anchor Club and the Technology Student Association. Allessia is an active member at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church where she helps coordinate Vacation Bible School, is involved with the youth group, and has attended medical mission trips to Kenya and Guatemala. She also volunteers with the Haverty’s Angel Tree project. Allessia plans to attend Rice University and major in pre-med. Her interests include reading, golf, travel, and videogames. Allessia is the daughter of Dr. Anita and Raymond Scribner.
Elise Pope, a senior at Pine Tree High School, is the daughter of Carol Pope and Rogers Pope, Jr. She is a member of the National Art Honor Society and several of her art projects were selected to compete in district and regional art contests. Her photography has also been showcased at the Longview Museum of Fine Arts Student Show. Elise is a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Z-Club. She is on the Pine Tree golf team and volunteers for the East Texas Piney Woods First Tee Program. Elise is a member of Mobberly Baptist Church and involved in the Children’s Ministry, Vacation Bible School, the Dallas County Homeless Shelter, the North Texas Food Bank, and the Buckner Afterschool Program. She plans to attend Mississippi State University, majoring in Professional Golf Management.
Christopher Yu is the son of Dr. Adam and Judy Yu and is a senior at Longview High School. He is a member of the National Honor Society, participates in the International Baccalaureate Program, and is student council president. Christopher plays on the varsity golf team and is active with the Technology Students Association and the Hispanic Theatre Club. He is a state-level competitive classical pianist and a member of both the LHS orchestra and the Longview Area Youth Symphonic Orchestra. Christopher is a community volunteer for Good Shepherd Medical Center, Longview Teen Court, and Buckner Westminster Place. He is undecided on his college choice at this time but plans to major in biology. Christopher enjoys music, travel, technology, golf, and cinematography.
