Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-fifth anniversary of Student Board of Directors, recognizing outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following members of the 2012-2013 Student Board.
Reid Russell, son of Kim and David Russell, is a senior at Longview High School. He is a member of the Interact club and the National Honor Society. Reid has been a starter on the LOBO varsity baseball team for the past two years. He plans to attend either Texas A&M University or Stephen F. Austin State University and major in geo-science or sports medicine. Reid is active in the youth group and with mission work at First United Methodist Church. He has served as a volunteer at Asbury House, Newgate Mission, and the environmental fair at Eastman Chemical Company. Reid’s interests and hobbies include baseball, spending time with friends, ultimate frisbee, and weight lifting.
Catherine Abigail “Abbey” Jones is a senior at Pine Tree High School. She is involved with Peer Assistance and Leadership Students (PALS), the Z-Club, and the Art Club. Abbey is also on the PT varsity tennis team. She plans to attend Baylor University, majoring in either biology or environmental science. Abbey is an active member of First United Methodist Church where she serves on the youth advisory council and is a member of both the choir and handbell group. Her volunteer time is spent at Hope’s Closet, Asbury House, Hiway 80 Rescue Mission, and Newgate Mission. Abbey has also been involved with the Move Forward Political Action Committee. She is the daughter of Michelle and Chris Jones.
Mason Liu is a senior at Pine Tree High School and is the son of Dr. Edward and Irby Liu. He is active in the sports program at PTHS and plays on both the varsity football and baseball teams. Mason was first team all-district in baseball. He participates in the Good Shepherd Medical Center Work Study Program and dedicates volunteer time to Longview Teen Court, Hiway 80 Rescue Mission, and Habitat for Humanity. Mason plans to attend The University of Texas at Austin and study pre-med, with long term career goal to acquire his medical degree and join a successful practice. Mason’s interests and hobbies include baseball, fishing, socializing, wakeboarding, and wakesurfing.
