Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-fifth anniversary of Student Board of Directors, recognizing outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following members of the 2012-2013 Student Board.
Andrew O’Connor, son of Rosemary and Timothy O’Connor, is a senior at Longview High School. He is a member of the National Honor Society and is an International Baccalaureate student. Andrew serves as president of the Technology Student Association (TSA) and has served as vice president of the Texas TSA. He has also been a member of the regional, state, and national TSA winning teams. Andrew is a NASA High School Aerospace Scholar and has attained the rank of Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America. He has recently been notified he is a National Merit Semifinalist. Andrew is interested in pursuing a degree in nuclear engineering. He was elected to serve as vice chairman for the Student Board of Directors for this school year.
Lindsey Sutton is a senior at Pine Tree High School and a member of the National Honor Society and the National Art Honor Society. She is an award-winning member of the math/science team and has also earned awards in math/science as a University Interscholastic League participant. Lindsey serves as chaplain for the PT Precision Drill Team, is a member of the Interact club, and is a Laws of Life essay finalist. She is active in youth leadership at Mobberly Baptist Church where she serves as a member of the youth action committee and as a pre-teen counselor at church camp. Lindsey plans to attend Texas A&M University and pursue a degree in nursing. Her interests and hobbies include art, dance, and spending time with friends. Lindsey is the daughter of Susan and Jeffrey Sutton.
Nick Novy is a senior at Longview High School where he is an International Baccalaureate student and a member of the National Honor Society. Nick participates in student council and is involved in the Interact Club. He is a four-year varsity letterman on the LOBO tennis team and has served as a counselor at the East Texas Tennis Camp. Nick has attended the LeTourneau University Youth Leadership Conference and is a Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) scholarship recipient. He is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Nick plans to attend Texas A&M University and would like to earn an undergraduate degree in business and then obtain a master of business administration degree. His interests and hobbies include tennis, fishing, traveling, and gardening. Nick is the son of Leslie and Scott Novy.
