Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-fifth anniversary of the Student Board of Directors, recognizing outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following members of the 2012-2013 Student Board.
Jalen Johnson, son of Sharon Hardaway, is a senior at Longview High School. He is an International Baccalureate student and a member of the National Honor Society. Jalen serves as class president and is a French club representative. He plays football for the Lobos and is also a member of the powerlifting team. Jalen is an active community volunteer and is involved in the youth group at New Birth Fellowship Church. He plans to attend Southern Methodist University and major in political science or pre-law. Jalen’s interests include watching college sports and spending time with family and friends.
Shelby Hart is a senior at Pine Tree High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Z-Club. Shelby serves as band captain with the Pine Tree Pride Band and received recognition at State for both percussion solo and ensemble. She is a district champion on the varsity tennis team and, as a member of the United States Tennis Association, also participates in USTA tournaments. Shelby also volunteers at summer tennis camp for small children. She is undecided on the college she would like to attend, but plans to major in either accounting or mechanical engineering. Shelby is the daughter of Phyllis and John D. Hart.
Tyler Vincent, son of Kris and Jim Vincent, is a senior at Longview High School. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the Interact Club, and was a Rotary Youth Exchange student in Japan. Tyler is captain of the varsity golf team and volunteers as a middle school golf mentor. He also plays on the varsity soccer team and is an AC Longview Soccer Club trainer. Tyler plans to attend Texas A&M University, majoring in trading risk and investment, with a future goal to complete law school at Baylor University. His interests and hobbies include hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
