Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-fifth anniversary of the Student Board of Directors, recognizing outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service.  We are proud to introduce the following members of the 2012-2013 Student Board.

Rachel Schulik is a senior at Pine Tree High School.  She is active in the Peer Assistance and Leadership Students (PALS).  Rachel is a member of the National Honor Society and serves as president for the National Art Honor Society.  She is an award-winning, fourth year art student, and shares her talent with other students currently painting a mural.  Rachel is a volunteer for SeeSaw Children’s Place and has traveled to Mexico and Romania on mission trips.  She plans to attend Texas A&M and major in pre-veterinarian medicine and zoology.  Rachel is the daughter of Cheryl and Scott Schulik.

Nick Torres, son of Dr. Bill and Karen Torres, is a senior at Longview High School.  He is an International Baccalaureate student and a member of the National Honor Society.  Nick is also a member of the Interact Club, an organization that leads team and school spirit during football games.  He is a volunteer at the Highway 80 Rescue Mission and for Refugee International.  Nick plans to study business at The University of Texas at Austin.

Makenzie Smith is a senior at Pine Tree High School and is the daughter of Tammy and Tom Riley.  She serves as secretary of Light the Way, a student organization committed to reducing the carbon footprint left by high energy consumption by encouraging the use of compact fluorescent bulbs in place of incandescent bulbs.  Makenzie is student body vice president and a member of Z-Club and Peer Assistance and Leadership Students (PALS).  She is also the varsity cheer captain.  Makenzie plans to major in psychology at either the University of Arkansas or Louisiana State University.  She enjoys gymnastics, running, and reading.
