This academic year, Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-fourth anniversary of the Student Board of Directors, a group of outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following 2011-2012 Student Board members:
KASEY MCGOUGH is a senior at Pine Tree High School and is a varsity cheerleader. She serves as treasurer for Z-Club and is a member of Light the Way. Kasey plans to study pre-med at either The University of Texas at Austin or Texas Christian University, and has a future goal to become a dermatologist. She is a member of Mobberly Baptist Church and enjoys doing volunteer work in the community. Kasey is the daughter of Drs. Chuck and K. Reneé McGough.
CATHERINE GARLAND will graduate from Longview High School and is the daughter of Susan and James Garland. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the science club, and is an International Baccalaureate student. Catherine serves as president of the FFA (Future Farmers of America) and has been awarded Achievement in Equine Science Proficiency. She is also a member of the United States Pony Club and the United States Eventing Association. Catherine plans to pursue a degree in zoology and hopes to someday work in zoo outreach or herpetology.
AMANDA HLOZEK is a senior at Longview High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society, Z-Club, and the science club. Amanda also serves as captain for the varsity cheerleaders. In addition to her studies, Amanda has also held a part-time job at Racquet & Jog. She plans to attend Texas State University and possibly major in mathematics. Amanda is the daughter of Denise and Billye Hlozek.
TAYLOR POLK is the son of Christy and Mark Polk and will graduate from Pine Tree High School later this month. He is a member of PALS (Peer Assistance and Leadership Students). Taylor is an accomplished gymnast and a member of the USA Junior Olympic Gymnastics Team. He is a gymnastics coach and summer camp instructor for the Piney Woods Gymnastics Center. Taylor plans to pursue his degree at Texas Tech University or Sam Houston State University. He is a member of Greggton United Methodist Church. Taylor’s interest and hobbies include law enforcement, hunting, and fishing.
