This academic year, Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-fourth anniversary of the Student Board of Directors, a group of outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following 2011-2012 Student Board members:
EMILY LONG, a senior at Trinity School of Texas, is the daughter of Tina and Allan Long. Emily is a member of the Spanish Club, Z-Club, and the National Honor Society. She serves as treasurer in Student Council and is the cheerleading captain. Emily plans to attend Vanderbilt University and major in biological sciences/pre-med with a future goal of medical school and becoming a surgeon. Her interests and hobbies include dance at The Dance Studio and volunteer work at the Gregg County Historical Museum.
HAYLEY COOK is a senior at Pine Tree High School where she serves as the Precision Drill Team secretary and Light the Way treasurer. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish Club, and is a volunteer student attorney for Teen Court. Hayley plans to graduate from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in finance and become a leading real estate agent in the Austin area. She dances with the senior company team at Fusion Dance Academy. Hayley is the daughter of Patti and Tom Cook.
JANE ANNE BLOUNT is a senior at Pine Tree High School and a member of the National Honor Society. She is active in Z-Club; Peer Assistance and Leadership Students (PALS); Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA); Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA); and the 4-H Club. Jane Anne plays on the varsity basketball team and is captain on the varsity volleyball team. She is undecided on her college choice at this time. Jane Anne is a junior elder at First Christian Church and her hobbies and interests include polocrosse, horseback riding, and both water and snow skiing. Jane Anne is the daughter of Lyn and Jeb Blount.
ALEX BICKHAM, a senior at Longview High School, is the son of Suzanne Bickham and Kyle Bickham. He is a member of Interact Club, participates in the International Baccalaureate Program, and serves as vice president for the Latin Club. Alex is also on the school swim team and was a regional swimming qualifier the past two years. He plans to major in business at The University of Texas at Austin. Alex is actively involved in the youth group, choir, and bible study group at First Presbyterian Church. He has also traveled on mission trips with the church. Alex hobbies include basketball and softball.
