This academic year, Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-fourth anniversary of the Student Board of Directors, a group of outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following 2011-2012 Student Board members:
MOLLY MCCREARY is a senior at Trinity School of Texas. She serves as president of both the National Honor Society and the Z-Club and is a member of the Spanish club. Molly is captain of both the varsity basketball and volleyball teams. She plans to attend the University of California, Santa Barbara, earn her degree in marine biology, and become a college professor. Molly is active in the youth group at First Presbyterian Church. She enjoys running and participates in half-marathons several times a year. Molly is the daughter of Mellissa and Charles McCreary.
KATIE ANNE CLARK, daughter of Mary and Sam Clark, is a senior at Spring Hill High School. She is president of the Student Council and a member of the National Honor Society. Katie is a recipient of the Rotary Youth Leadership Award. She plans to major in nutrition and minor in Spanish at The University of Texas at Austin. Katie’s future goals include earning her master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies, concentrating in dermatology. She loves to dance and hang out with family and friends and is involved with Feed and Seed and Young Life Student Ministries at her church. Katie was selected by her peers to serve as secretary for the student board group this school year.
JOSEPH SCHAETZ is a senior at Pine Tree High School where he is a member of the National Honor Society and the UIL Math/Science team. Joseph serves as band captain, euphonium section leader, and is also a member of the jazz band. He is undecided on his college choice at this time but does plan to major in music with a goal of becoming a band director and one day a professional musician. Joseph is a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church where he serves as an usher and lector. His hobby is practicing his instruments. Joseph is the son of Laurie and Bob Schaetz.
SHELBY ADKINS is a senior at Longview High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Top Teens of America-Longview Oil Derrick Chapter. Shelby dances with the LHS Viewettes and has participated in theater. She plans to earn her degree in dance at the University of North Texas in Denton, with aspirations of becoming an actress on Broadway and someday opening a dance studio. Shelby serves as youth president at St. Mark CME Church. She loves to sing, dance, write, and teach. Shelby is the daughter of Tracey and Kurt Adkins.
