This academic year, Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-third anniversary of the Student Board of Directors, a group of outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following 2010-2011 Student Board members:
JESSICA MANCHA is a senior at Longview High School and the daughter of Marisol and Jesus Mancha. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the International Baccalaureate program. Jessica serves as vice president of the Z-Club, is a dedicated member of the LOBO band, and is a member of the Spanish club. She plans to major in speech pathology at The University of Texas at Austin. Jessica’s interests and hobbies include traveling, attending concerts, and spending time with her family and friends.
WHITTEN SHAPPELL is a senior at Longview High School where she is a member of the LHS Viewettes Drill Team and the National Honor Society. Whitten has several colleges in mind at this time and plans to obtain a degree as a child life specialist. Her future goals include graduating with honors, finding a good job, and having a family. Whitten enjoys dancing, swimming, and spending time with friends, and also volunteers at local hospitals and day care centers. She is the daughter of Lea and Trace Shappell.
SYDNEY SCARBOROUGH, daughter of Laini and Ted Scarborough, will graduate from Longview High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society, both the Z-Club and Science club, and is also a cheerleader. Sydney plans to major in pre-dentistry at The University of Texas at Austin. She is an active member of the youth group at First United Methodist Church where she has taught vacation Bible school and participated on mission trips. Sydney’s interests and hobbies include cheerleading, dance, running, and reading.
CARLY DAVIS is a senior at Pine Tree High School. She serves as head cheerleader on the varsity cheerleading squad and plays tennis for the varsity Lady Pirates. Carly plans to major in business at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). She participates in the youth group at First Baptist Church, has traveled on mission trips with Bridge Builders, and also helped to repair home in the local community through World Changers. Carly is the daughter of Linda and Robert Davis III.
