This academic year, Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-third anniversary of the Student Board of Directors, a group of outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following 2010-2011 Student Board members:
SANDRA PEREZ, daughter of Sandra and Arturo Perez, is a senior at Pine Tree High School. She is a member of the National Honor Society and serves as president for the Leadership Team. Sandra also serves as secretary for the Z-Club and is a four-year member of the Spanish club. She plans to attend The University of Texas at Austin and major in biology and then attend medical school. Sandra would like to have a career as a pediatric oncologist. She attends St. Matthews Church and is a member in the EDGE group. Sandra enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
BRANDON BOWLES is a senior at Longview High School. He is a member of the National Honor Society and a recipient of the Rotary Youth Leadership Award. Brandon plays tennis on the Lobo varsity tennis team and is also a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He plans to major in mechanical engineering but is undecided on his college choice at this time. Brandon is active in the leadership group at Mobberly Baptist Church and has served as a counselor at the church’s pre-teen camp. He enjoys going to the lake and spending time with friends. Brandon is the son of Deedra and Gary Bowles.
CLAIRE HENDERSON is a senior at Longview High School and a member of the Spanish club, the STARS Reading club, and the National Honor Society. She is a member of the varsity golf team. Claire plans to attend Baylor University and major in English, with a future goal of becoming a publisher. She sings in the Oakland Heights Baptist Church youth choir and ensemble. Claire is the daughter of Mandy and Steve Henderson.
BRITTON EASTBURN, son of Marta Eastburn and Allen Eastburn, is a senior at Longview High School. He plays varsity football for the Lobos and was recognized as an all-district linebacker. Britton serves as an officer for the Interact club and is a member of the National Honor Society and a Duke scholar with distinction. He has plans to study pre-med at Texas A&M University, become an emergency room doctor, and do medical mission work. Britton attends First Presbyterian Church where he is involved in the youth group and bible study. He enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and photography. Britton was elected to serve as the Student Board chairman this year.
