Texas Bank and Trust celebrates the thirty-sixth anniversary of Student Board of Directors, recognizing outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to community service. We are proud to introduce the following members of the 2013-2014 Student Board.
Eric Ramos, a senior at Longview High School, is a member of both the National Honor Society and the International Baccalaureate Program. He serves as president of the state and national award-winning Longview Chapter of the Technology Student Association. He is also involved in the University Interscholastic League (UIL) literary criticism team. Eric is planning to attend DigiPen Institute of Technology in Redmond, Washington, to study video game design. His long-term goal is to work in the entertainment analysis department of Nintendo. Eric is the son of Virginia and Bonifacio Ramos.
Michele Farren, daughter of Deborah and Michael Farren, will graduate from Longview High School this spring. Michele is a member of the National Honor Society and the International Baccalaureate Program. She is a majorette with the LOBO marching band and is also a member of the LHS symphonic band. She has advanced to all-region and all-area band, all-state ensemble, and all-state soloist. She is also involved in her school’s art program and serves on the Longview Museum of Fine Arts student board. Michele would like to earn her degree in graphic design at The University of Texas at Austin.
Amy Johns is a senior at Pine Tree High School where she serves as captain and section leader of the Pine Tree band. Amy is a University Interscholastic League (UIL) state qualifier for solo and ensemble and also a UIL academic regional qualifier. She is also involved in the theatre program and preforms in one-act plays, and serves on the yearbook staff. She is an active member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church, where she is involved with the youth group, youth choir, and the orchestra. Amy will be attending Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, where she has been accepted into the Honors College Program. She is the daughter of Laura and Kevin Johns.
Jared Pauley is the son of Lara and James Pauley and is a senior at Longview High School. He is a member of the National Honor Society and serves as vice president of the Interact Club, a service club that assists numerous school and community organizations. Jared is a four-year member of the LOBO varsity baseball team and was selected to the district 12-5A second team all-district. Jared plans to attend The University of Texas at Austin where he will major in education. His long-term career goal is to become a science teacher and coach baseball.
