The purpose of the Women’s Symphony League of Tyler is to support and promote the growth of the East Texas Symphony Orchestra and to encourage music education within the community. The Symphony League will hold their annual benefit league ball, Carnival of Venice, on Friday, March 6, at Harvey Convention Center. The co-chairman of this year’s league ball is Mrs. Sharon Eiche. The gala event promises to be an evening of beauty and mystique and will include dinner and dancing, a casino, a benefit drawing, and a silent auction. Mrs. Eiche began her volunteer work as a teenager, serving as a Community Chest day-care aide. She has also held many positions in her church, including Church Council President. Mrs. Eiche has participated with school fundraisers, served as an Art Mom, and was the PTA co-president at Hogg Middle School for two years. She is a University of Texas Ambassador and a member of the Cattle Barons’ Gala Committee. Mrs. Eiche also volunteers for the Salvation Army during the Christmas season as a bell ringer. “I’ve worked all of my life and found that whether I have a little or a lot, I always seem to have more than enough for myself and for my family. Sharing my blessings with others is a great joy.” Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Mrs. Eiche has lived in Tyler for 34 years. She and her husband, John, have one son, Zach. “Tyler is a special place to me because of the spirit of service that is alive in this community. The generous individuals and businesses make wonderful things happen for all of us,” Mrs. Eiche said.
