Tammy Mitchell

The Texas Bank and Trust Community Spirit Award recognizes a bank employee who embodies a spirit of service and community involvement, representing TB&T in the local communities we serve. Texas Bank and Trust has always been actively involved in supporting the community, and this award underscores the importance of community service by our employees.

Tammy Mitchell, an assistant auditor with the bank since August 2006, was honored with the inaugural award as the bank’s employee dinner this past March.

Mrs. Mitchell was recognized for her volunteer efforts with a number of local organizations, including Leadership Longview, in which she has been a participant and also a member of their planning committee, the East Texas Literacy Council, where she has served as both a board member and a tutor, as well as a member of the bank’s spelling team at the annual Bee for Literacy event, Habitat for Humanity, HiWay 80 Rescue Mission and, most notably, Longview Community Ministries.

At LCM, she volunteers with such programs as Coats for Kids, Too Hot To Cook, and as a monthly volunteer with the Food Box distribution. Additionally, Mrs. Mitchell currently serves as President of the LCM Board of Directors.

Mrs. Mitchell has been an active volunteer in Longview for most of her life, learning the value of community service from her mother who used to serve meals to the needy from her home.

“I am truly honored to receive the first Texas Bank and Trust Community Spirit Award,” Mrs. Mitchell said. “(I am) fortunate to work for an organization that is always on the forefront of volunteering and giving back to the communities it serves.”

Throughout its history, Texas Bank and Trust has placed a high value on service for its employees. The bank’s spirit of community has brought together individuals who share a common vision of improving the lives of their neighbors.
