OUR HISTORY

1957 First State Bank of Longview is chartered by the State of Texas.
1958 First State Bank of Longview officially opens for business on March 4 with $2.6 million in total assets. Clyde Tomlinson, Sr., is the first chairman of the board.
1962 The name of the bank is changed to Longview Bank and Trust Company.
1970 Rogers Pope is named president and chief executive officer of the bank.
1975 Rogers Pope is named chairman of the board of directors.
1978 The main bank facilities are expanded to 36,000 square feet.
1980 LB&T surpasses $100 million in total assets.
1982 The building across Whaley Street is acquired, adding 23,000 square feet.
1983 The large American flag is unveiled in the east parking area of the main bank in celebration of the bank’s 25th year of operation. The bronze sculpture at its base depicts the history of Longview. The Trust and Investment Division is established.
1985 Bob Dyer is named president of the bank.
1987 LB&T establishes Longview Financial Services Company as a discount brokerage subsidiary.
1991 LB&T opens Pine Tree branch at Gilmer Road and Loop 281.
1993 BSC Securities commences business after purchasing Longview Financial Services Company.
1994 Independent Bank Services office opens.
1995 Bob Dyer is named vice chairman and Howard Hackney is named president of the bank.
1996 LB&T opens Cushing Banking Center.
1997 LB&T opens San Augustine Banking Center.
1998 LB&T opens Pine Tree Convenience Center.
1999 LB&T opens North Longview, Gladewater and Marshall.
2001 LB&T surpasses $500 million in total assets.
2003 The name of the bank is changed to Texas Bank and Trust Company.
2004 TB&T opens Tyler branch. Rogers Pope, Jr., is named President and Chief Operating Officer.
2006 TB&T opens Terrell branch. BSC Securities changes name to TBT Securities.
2007 The Trust and Investment Division relocates to the Pine Tree branch, and the branch is subsequently renamed the Pine Tree Financial Center. Longview main bank community room is renamed the Hazel Hickey Community Room.
2008 TB&T opens second location in Tyler. Longview main bank facility remodeled. TB&T celebrates 50 years of service to East Texas. Panoramic oil painting, “Spirit of East Texas-Looking Forward, Reaching Far” unveiled and is centerpiece in main bank lobby. TB&T surpasses $1 billion in total assets.
2010 TB&T opens flagship location in Tyler. Expansion and renovations completed in Marshall.
